AEONTS announced 3Q/2015 a net profit of 550 MB or 2.20 baht per share.

Bangkok, December 22, 2015 - Mr. Yasuhiko Kondo, Managing Director of AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited (AEONTS) – Thailand’s consumer finance business leader – recently announced the financial results for the 3 rd quarter ended November 20, 2015 with the net profit attributable to owners of the parent of 550 million baht. For nine-month period, the Company recorded 1,804 million baht of net profit of owners of the parent. Basic earnings per share (EPS) for the nine-month and the third quarter of 2015 were 7.22 baht per share and 2.20 baht per share respectively. 

In the 3rd quarter FY2015, the Company reported revenues of 4,528 million baht, increasing by 4% y-y. For nine-month period, total revenues were 13,259 million baht, increasing by 2% y-y. Main business generated from credit card 37%, loans 50%, hire purchase 2%, and others 11%, respectively. While total expenses recorded at 3,830 million baht, increasing by 5% y-y from Q3/2014 and posted at 10,994 million baht, increasing by 3% y-y for nine-month period. As a result, the Company recorded a net profit at 550 million baht in Q3/2015, and 1,804 million baht for nine-month period.

The Thai economy in the third quarter of 2015 slightly recovering from previous quarter. This was mainly from the recovery of private consumption and stimulation of government expenditure as well as the growth of credit card spending and personal loan still increased continuously. The Company provides a variety of privileges to our customers in form of rewards and cash back schemes to encourage card spending. In addition, we have expanded financial service networks in order to enhance the customers’ satisfaction and facilitate customers’ ability to access more financial channels. Therefore, AEON members can utilize the revolving loans service through many service channels; besides AEONTS ATMs, Counter Service through 7-11 nationwide, other major bank ATMs i.e. Kasikorn, Thanachart, Bangkok Bank, Krungsri, Krungthai, GSB and they can also transfer and receive cash through Thailand Post Office nationwide. Totaling, we have more than 52,000 cashing channels.

As at November 20, 2015, The Company’s credit cards and member cards increased by 3% from last year to totaling 7.47 million cards. Covering networks nationwide, the Company to expand its network to 119 branches, 467 ATMs and more than 16,900 member dealers to provide quality financial services to AEON cardholders.
