AEONTS announced 3Q/2016 a net profit of 480 MB or 1.92 baht per share.

Bangkok, January 12, 2017 - Mr. Kiyoyasu Asanuma, Managing Director of AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Limited (AEONTS) – Thailand’s consumer finance business leader – recently announced the financial results for the 3 rd quarter ended November 30, 2016 with the net profit attributable to owners of the parent of 480 million baht. For nine-month period, the Company recorded 1,567 million baht of net profit of owners of the parent. Basic earnings per share (EPS) for the nine-month and the 3rd quarter of 2016 were 6.27 baht per share and 1.92 baht per share respectively.

In the 3rd quarter FY2016, the Company reported revenues of 4,358 million baht, decreasing by 2% y-y. Therefore, if we exclude gain on sale of written off account receivables, the growth was 3% from the same period of last year. For nine-month period, total revenues were 13,135 million baht, flat from last year. Main business generated from credit card 37%, loans 52%, hire purchase 2%, and others 9%, respectively. While total expenses recorded at 3,756 million baht, the same level as last year and posted at 11,156 million baht, increasing by 4% y-y for nine-month period. However, we believe that sales will improve in the fourth quarter due to government initiatives such as Low-income welfare, tax deduction for domestic tour package and shopping.

The Thai economy in the 3rd quarter of 2016 continued to recover, driven by public consumption as well as export sector started to pick up in this quarter. The Company provides a variety of privileges to our customers such as launched campaign “AEON & Shell Privileges 2016” a special promotion for primary AEON Gold and Classic card to spend 3,000 baht at a Shell services station will get cash back 500 baht per month, “AEON Gift 2017” AEON card holders register via website or SMS in order to redeem the premiums, “AEON Shop Plus” campaign was launched for credit card customers to accumulate sales slips up to required amounts for premium redemption and etc.

As at November 30, 2016, The Company’s credit cards and member cards increased by 210,000 cards from February 29, 2016, to totaling 7.76 million cards. Covering networks nationwide, the Company to expand its network to 113 branches, 471 ATMs and more than 17,300 member dealers to provide quality financial services to AEON cardholders.
