We are pleased to announce that AEON MICROFINANCE (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of AEON Financial Service Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Akinori Yamashita), engages in hire purchase business, etc. in Cambodia, has become the first Japanese company to obtain the Specialized Bank License from the National Bank of Cambodia on 26 October 2015. AEON MICROFINANCE (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd. will re-register itself as a specialized bank and change its company name to AEON SPECIALIZED BANK (CAMBODIA) PLC., and will start a credit card business from January 2016.
Since its establishment in October 2011, AEON MICROFINANCE (CAMBODIA) Co., Ltd. has been engaging in the provision of hire purchase service for durable consumer goods like television and mobile phone as well as clean loans. In the future, it will leverage on its experience of hire purchase to develop a credit card business.
Moreover, it will acquire card application from its current hire purchase customers and inside AEON shopping mall. Furthermore, by providing privileges when cardholders shop inside AEON shopping mall, we aim to provide to the Cambodian customers with convenient financial service.
